Nightmare on Main Street

The “Green Economy” Continues to Collapse around Obama’s “Middle Class” OR “Nightmare on Main Street”

The Despondent Correspodent

Jim Gschwind, PHD

Almost Immediately after the presidents’ State of the Union address another Green corporation which had feed at the “federal pig trough” with a bailout or as Obama insists….”investment”, declared bankruptcy.  Who will be surprised if we find out later that they were pressured not to declare until after his speech?

Speaking of the Presidents’ State of the Union, who is this middle class that the president wholeheartedly supports?  Could it be the same class that he has consistently brought to it’s knees with his total misunderstanding that a strong middle class is what  enables individuals to become “wealthy”.  4% of the “new poor” in this country are former members of the middle class and a high percentage of those are from the Black middle class which has taken off and grown since the early 70s.  Unfortunately Obama has put the black middle class back where it was about 30 years ago and has been a one man wrecking ball for the great American middle class as a whole.

Everyone is afraid to call him a socialist or Marxist when he himself in his own words in his autobiography when he admitted to subscribing to that theory and in fact young Barry was a proponent of violent overthrow before fellow Marxists convinced him that the best way in America was through “political” rather than “violent” methods.  Why would he be such good friends after all with the violent Bill Ayers as well as other well known socialist/Marxist individuals he subsequently brought into his administration.  A subject of course that the elite media (notice I didn’t say “mainstream”) thought was a ridiculous area to vet when he was running in 08.  Almost everyone ignored those connections.  Why is everyone so afraid of saying those words that Barry was so proud of years ago.  Haven’t heard a “peep” out of our noteworthy “conservative” candidates.

Of course according to Rev Sharpton who is already out there promoting “racism” and stating that any white man running against the president or who disagrees with him has to obviously be racist.    Who let the “marbles” slide out of his noggin?  So we cannot disagree with “anyone” any longer without the label of “racist”?   It doesn’t matter that the republican party and tea party ranks have filled with renown black “talented” conservatives like Col Alan West, Herman Cain, Niger Innis (Congress of Racial Equality) and writers such as Sowell, just to name a few.

Speaking of that and also of the Presidents speech which was so full of praise for the middle class he personally destroyed, why haven’t any of the candidates stopped attacking themselves long enough to refute any of the obvious lies and fallicies in the presidents’ kick-off campaign speech which was his state of the union address?  I feel cheated and upset that they are more concerned with each others faults and transgressions that they completely ignored this “farce” of an address that was in fact the presidents’ “shot across the bow” showing that “officially” he has started his campaign (even though most of us realize he never left the campaign mode and has been campaigning instead of governing from the beginning).

The Green lobby has noticeably been absent in the media regarding the race as I’ve said before, there is an abundance of Green lobby money for failed green industries in all the republican candidates coffers.  This is despite the fact that all republican candidates at least for now are advocating as are the unions, the Keystone pipeline.  What Obama fails to see is that his Green jobs initiative is failing because the technology isn’t there yet and is ignoring the fact that we already have 20,000 out of work oil rig workers (up to 200,000 jobs available from the pipeline) already “trained” and ready to go.  The Eco-nuts in the EPA also fail to see that this pipeline is only one of 75 pipelines already going through that area of Nebraska.  Our new technology has been proven “safe” and opens the door for energy independence for us “right now” if not the immediate future, giving some of the more deserving green options for alternatives time to perfect their technology and let the market decide when they are viable.   Haven’t we learned from the Alaskan pipeline?  There have been no major problems with that pipeline and in fact caribou populations and other wildlife have flourished since these pipelines are “heated” and provide vegetation beneath for feeding even in the worst winters.  The only problems have been that since they attract wildlife, hunters have been known to accidentally hit a pipeline with  a bullet or two that quickly gets patched.

They are also noticeably silent to the fact that the only thing Obama predicted to come true was the fall in the ocean levels by ¼ inch in past few years, meaning ice is forming somewhere.  Ice is forming by the way in the Artic north of the Bearing sea as evidence by the worst ice formation in years around Nome Alaska.  A rescue party of icebreakers escorting a fuel tanker just rescued the city last week.  This is because the North pole due to deep earthquakes has moved approximately 40 miles closer to Moscow causing us in the Eastern United States as well as Greenland where all the global warming scientists are worrying and measuring melting ice 40 miles further south towards the equator and giving us warming winters.   The failure of GM to unload all of their “volt” battery vehicles is cause for alarm as we invested in GM and “told” them to do this in the first place.  Another failure of a green initiative that the Government has been throwing our scarce tax dollar at.  I am a “greenie” of the conservative bend but as a scientist I abhor and deny those who will try and foist false science on the rest of the population in an effort to line their pockets with research money and deny other scientists the ability to “peer review” their theories.  That is NOT science, nor how it is expected to work as many nobel scientists have said when they resigned in protest to the global warming religious mob.

In the end this should all be part of our current debate.  I for one voted this week and despite the fact that I knew that ALL of the candidates had taken green money as campaign “gifts” as evidenced by the fact that when questioned, they ALL responded with the same prepared script (even Christie who chose not to run) and I’m paraphrasing what they said:  “I’m not a scientist, but it seems that there is some truth to the man-made global warming and I think that we must take care of our planet and resources.”  (despite 7 other planets also warming without a human population?) Well I agree with that except I AM a scientist and know that our knee jerk reactions to protect our resources have proven more disastrous: ethanol more dangerous to atmosphere….Gore and others finally admitted, mercury laden new light bulbs in land fills causing water pollution and loss of jobs and destruction of economy due to unwise investments in technologies that are not ready for “prime time”.

Quite frankly I needed a nose clip to vote for “any” of the remaining candidates and the Florida ballot had ALL of the original cast of characters tempting many of my friends and neighbors to vote for their prior favorites as a “protest” that we in Florida were denied a decent choice.  I predict that someone sitting on the sidelines will leap in at the last minute and don’t think Hillary and other Democratic power brokers aren’t thinking about a run against Obama.  At least two of the remaining candidates are for “open borders” and all of them except Paul are anti-second amendment.

Although I won’t tell you where my voting “dart” hit, I for one knew who I wasn’t voting for as I just could not erase that horrible image of Newt smiling and sitting on the couch with Nancy discussing man-made global warming……..It was just too much of a nightmare.

News Flash from the Despondent Correspondent....Truths and Myths in Neg Ads

News flash from Despondent Correspondent......Truths and Myths in

 Neg Ads
Jim Gschwind PHD

Truth versus Fact:  Yes I was writing back then and I remember the Gingrich congressional investigation.  In fact I was at this back in the 60s when I was a teenager passing out bumper stickers for Goldwater.

Florida negative ads are starting here in Florida and although I am not a Gingrich Fan (I worked for Reagans inaugural in Dec 84/Jan 85) and can tell you that it is true that Gingrichs name was hardly known under Reagan and yes Reagan only mentioned him once in his memoirs so he wasn't "close" as he claims (Tip Oneil Democrat..was speaker then and worked well with Reagan); The following in neg ads are not true....Gingrich was never "fined" 300,000 for ethics violations, he actually offered that much to pay for part of the ethics investigation that eventually cleared him.....I don't love the man, just hate lies....

Take care all.  My turn to vote 31st.  And, even if you have to wear heavy duty noseclips like you did in the swimming pool as a kid when you enter that voting booth.....remember to back whomever finally wins the nomination, our purpose is to beat Obama, not ourselves.  Continuing to be politically "incorrect" as always, I say to you....In God we Trust because we "must".

What Now? The Plot Sickens!!!

Now What?.....The Plot Sickens!!!

Jim Gschwind PHD

The Despondent Correspondent

Hey guys......My primary is now a little over a week away here in Florida....and another conservative dropped out.....Gonna need an even bigger clothespin on my nose it seems this election.....That's why I never actually watch my favorite football teams and root for them because every time I do, they lose....All my "favs" for the conservative cause are now out of it so I can only pray for the sake of our country that whomever Obama's opponent is next year (and I'll support him) will pick a decent real conservative as a running mate (I really think deals have already been struck in back rooms...).

Doesn't it seem "coincidental" that the ""excrement" really flew and hit the fan for even the front runners last 48 hrs.  Kinda like there was someone in the sidelines throwing ballbearings or marbles out onto their political dance floor?  If this kind of politics wasn't so sad at such a crucial time in the history of our country, it would actually be a slapstick comedy routine.  I'm sure ABC would pick it up as a series.

I still believe, any one of them, even if I don't agree with everything they say will be better than a future National Socialist (State "control" not ownership of means of production...definition of Fascism) State dictatorship.

At the risk of being totally politically incorrect just as our money that says the same thing has been cheapened around the world........In God we Trust. (We must).

New from Despondent Correspondent - Prepare to hold noses in voting booth

Prepare to “Hold your Noses”!!

Jim Gschwind , PHD

The Despondent Correspondent

Although this looks like a repeat of 2008 for the Republicans with putting forth a rather liberal republican (translate:  Establishment/Rockefeller ..Translate this as: “Rino”) considering his Massachusetts governing background, let’s not forget that the Democrats had a very similar situation in ’08 with Hillary in the lead at this point.  Romney has the lead for now, but I doubt that will continue in South Carolina and Florida as the South never has warmed up to Romney even in 08 (see some of my previous columns).

I will repeat what I’ve said all along:  “as far as electability goes, anyone of the republican candidates can win against Obama”.  I’ve noticed there are even more rumblings from establishment Democrats that Hillary might enter late primaries against Obama with even a “leak” from Bill on the subject, despite her public denials that she wasn’t interested, we all have come to know and “love” Hillary and know that denying any further political aspirations on her part is NOT in her mindset.   She has certainly been more “active” behind the scenes and leading more “in front” rather from the rear like her boss has.  Examples being the Libyan civil war as well as the Egyptian fiasco during this Arab Spring.  Another example she can tout to others is her involvement with Leon Panetta in actually bringing down OBL during the daring Seal Team Six raid.  She and Leon, who then was in his CIA post, successfully went around Valerie Jared who was trying to block and insulate her boss from giving the “go” to that operation.  They had enough of it so they surreptitiously gave the “go” and then invited the “boss” in to watch it when Valerie wasn’t around.  Those close to the White House said he was like a “deer in headlights” and couldn’t believe what was going down.  But this has been brought out by others in the media (certainly not the alphabet media) and never got any traction.  The American common man public is still convinced Obama got Osama (besides it rhymes) although it was Bush intelligence that enabled the whole operation.  This will not gain any traction in 2012 unless Hillary brings it up for sure because I doubt Panetta will back her up publicly.  Hillary can of course generally point to the fact that the President doesn’t even lead inside his own White House and in fact has delegated this to Valerie Jared which is supposedly why Daly left his post recently as he couldn’t deal with her as many others have found out.  She is the power behind the throne and merely sticks her hand up his backside as a puppeteer would.  Next time he’s addressing the nation……..look for the wires above his head..!!

Enough of the Democratic problems and prognostication, lets get back to our own primary woes.  Many are starting to resign themselves to the fact that they won’t get a conservative in the White House since every true blue conservative and even a couple rinos have been totally smeared in the press with negative ads with great affect.  As a conservative who was “never” a democrat, I worked as a teenager for the local Goldwater camp in the early 60s and was impressed that my hero then retired/reserve Air Force general Jimmy Stewart was backing him.  I have always been conservative and especially so when I worked in the Pentagon and on Reagans inaugural committee back in the early 80s.  It’s now that I’m reminded by friends that Reagan once was a democrat and this has caused me to reconsider my position, knowing that my only 100% candidate had left the race, to look again at Rick Perry and Santorum.  Both have their faults and good points.  Perry was run over by the “campaign bus” when he blotched a few debates and made his position on immigration known.  I’m not even considering Gingrich as he is just too much of an insider politician to me who probably has had a hand in us getting into our current mess and “he doesn’t play well with others”.   I remember his Pelosi adoration with global warming; his lobbying with Fannie Mae for a good chunk of change in his own pocket and his ethics violations by the House in the 90s (only speaker EVER to be so chastised in public by his own party).  I’m not prone at this point to let the fox back into the Hen House and his current “whining” about Romney’s tactics is really childish.   While I think agree with Ron Pauls domestic issues, his isolationist tendency goes so far right, that it actually meets the far left coming the other way.  Let’s hope if he is a Veep candidate that he can be “controlled” somewhat and not a loose cannon like Obama’s veep and that he doesn’t get upset at not being nominated and split the vote by running as an independent again (that’s how Obama got in office originally).

So for my second look at Perry:  Although I heard an earful at CPAC 2011 from the Texas delegation that didn’t trust him but labeled him the “consummate” politician who will say anything to get elected, he does have an admirable record of accomplishments in Texas. That is, if you forget the fact that he pushed the cervical cancer medication on young girls without parental permission in the schools for his wife who was lobbying for this.   Ignore the fact that inoculating 9 year olds being prior to sexual activity means the medicine is only good for 2-3 years and they will have to be re-inoculated in their teen years when they are really probably sexually active.  He got some bad advice from of all people even his wife.   He also has granted in state tuition and scholarships to illegal immigrants while he proposes stronger border barriers, so I really don’t know where he really stands on illegal immigration.  Maybe he’s even confused.  Even though he was head of Al Gore’s campaign as state chairman, he was converted to the republican ranks by the George Bush team.  As I said, I remember that Reagan was a democrat for a few years until as he said “the democratic party, left him”.  This democrat to republican wave didn’t originate in Texas but was a southern trend after Reagans terms in office.   He redeemed himself in my eyes Saturday night when Mike Huckabee sponsored the question and answer session in Charleston.   He actually appeared natural, relaxed and one could finally look him in the eyes and tell that his extemporaneous answers were not pre-prepared but that he was confident in his answers and I believe he really believes in what he said.

Santorum:  Well many who know him give him the strength and virtue that he “never” changes his position on whet he says he believes in.  You can tell this by his standing firm on his own pro-life stance despite the constant questioning.  On the other hand, insiders who have served with him in the house, say he’s not very decisive and tend to put things off, until he is absolutely sure he can win the votes.  I’m ignoring the negative ads for now but I am worried about his gun control stance.  He voted with the majority of democrats as they continually increased the national debt ceiling.  His answer to this accusation was very honest in that he stated as “one” member of congress, he cannot defeat something that most other elected officials want just by himself, but as president he could veto it.  Only time would tell if this is true or not.  Should we risk things by giving him the chance to prove things?

I still think many will decide when we know who is running with another candidate, such as Cain, Bachman, Alan West, Marco Rubio, etc.   I’m sure that if the consensus goes with Romney, he will be wise enough to choose a conservative with total credentials such as those mentioned.  If that’s the case, I think I’d even back Romney.  Until then however, I’ll be studying Perry and Santorum and I’ll be totally ignoring these daily polls which actually prove nothing and tend to confuse the voters and encourage voters to go for the “establishment” candidate.

I’m being redundant by saying this IS the most important election in my lifetime as the future of the country I love and have served is at stake.  All candidates have picked up this mantra.  All I know is even if I have to hold my nose in the end; I will support the Republican candidate to escape the evil that Obama and his Chicago mob are going to this wonderful country.  I do NOT want us remade into a socialist republic.  I know that isn’t political correctness to call him a Marxist or Communist, but we have to remember that even in HIS OWN AUTOBIOGRAPHY, he stated that he felt more comfortable in college around the Marxist, communist crowd and that his grandparents were OPENLY proud Marxists as was his father and Mother.  Black voters must also realize that although the President is the first Black President in history, he NEVER grew up in a community that showed him the true black experience in Hawaii that other blacks in urban areas and in the south felt in the 50s and 60s.  I lived in Hawaii during the early 60s and remember that Whites were actually the minority in Hawaii.   This, at that time a “new” state, in it’s first election as a state, was totally intent on denying resident military from voting in Hawaii until overturned by the courts.  There are schools that a white cannot attend in Hawaii (Punaho and Kamehameha as examples) and yet young Barry seems to think he has “SHARED” the black experience, while he really hasn’t even come close to it.  Is it any wonder why there is no empathy from him regarding the recently growing black middle class and small business owners who have been hit harder by this recession than any other ethnic group in America?  He has almost single handedly destroyed the previously growing black middle class that has been blossoming for a few decades and taken them back to the 60s.

I’ll have my chance the end of January here in Florida, right now I’m leaning towards Perry as a conservative based upon his latest performance.   Some of my friends here in Florida after the NH primary and the Charleston event have announced themselves for Romney but I respect that and if Romney takes South Carolina and Florida I will eat my words (literally, here on paper) and support him wholeheartedly.  If he does win, I think he knows he’ll have to pick a good conservative as a running mate and then I won’t have to hold my nose in the voting booth as I did in 2008.

Global Warming lobby running scared: but still Strong

Global Warming Advocates Running Scared:

Regulate Baby…Regulate!!!

Jim Gschwind PHD

The Despondent Correspondent

In anticipation of a conservative victory November 2012, governmental agencies involved in “Green projects” and regulatory affairs are scurrying about frantically attempting to impose as many regulations on business and the American people as possible before any funding is pulled by an incoming administration.  This has been especially noticeable in the past few months as Obama’s polling numbers become more dismal and the country has come to terms with an inevitable conservative win.  While in the republican primary season the administration and it’s media cohorts have managed to discredit any real conservative voice running for the lead in the republican race, there is still strong support for balancing a moderate republican with a true blue conservative on the ticket and there is ample evidence that there has already been backroom deals between former antagonists such as Bachman and Cain with the more moderate candidates remaining in the contest.  This is because even Romney knows he must balance the ticket with a real conservative to allay the fears of the majority of his party that he really is conservative.

Recently the courts helped the American citizenry by delaying an EPA “Cross-State Air Pollution Rule” that was supposed to go into affect 1 Jan 2012.  The courts only delayed this rule from taking affect and according to the House Energy and Commerce Committee this rule would have raised consumers electricity bills and jeopardized up to 1.6 million jobs at a consumer cost of almost $21 billion annually.

The Canadian pipeline deal (yes Canada is our top importer of oil) which Obama refuses to allow and the EPA has ordered an expensive and almost prohibitive detour for is still being added into last minute funding bills by House republicans in an effort to overcome Obama and the EPAs delaying tactics despite the fact that it would possibly bring in as many as 200,000 jobs to the Midwest.   Despite all the roadblocks the administration and global warming zealots have placed in the way of oil exploration and processing, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming are proving that even with tremendous regulations, the oil industry is still creating jobs.  The jobless rate in some of these areas in the Midwest has fallen below 4% and with some companies advertising in California, Louisiana and Florida for individuals to move to these areas for jobs.  Pennsylvania has become the new mecca for out of work Louisiana oil workers who have flowed into Western Pennsylvania to take advantage of the natural gas boom.  Ironic since the Quaker state was the first location for oil discoveries in America.  Meanwhile Obama says he is allowing drilling in the Gulf but his henchmen in the EPA and BLM (Bureau of Land Management) continually find ways of delaying and harassing corporations seeking to produce our own energy.  It was recently exposed that the EPA individuals concerned with the West Texas big bend leases actually made up an endangered species of lizard to halt drilling.  That’s right, just made it up folks! And kudos to the individual journalists who found this in their emails.

The EPA, Administration and Energy Department continues to drag feet on new leases and permits for these areas to no avail as there are enough qualified leases already in operation and with new drilling techniques, companies no longer have to move rigs around to harvest the black gold or gas, but merely drill more sideways (fracking).  By the way, these companies have overcome the original fracking problems often cited by environmentalists.

Meanwhile the administration attempts to push through as many new environmental regulations as possible trying to make it impossible to apply for and receive any new permits.  New discoveries of natural gas and oil in the continental US have made it clear that we can become energy independent with fossil fuels.  This erases one of the biggest arguments environmentalists have against the use of fossil fuels.  Current technology also has made fossil fuel use cleaner than ever before.  Despite complaints, air quality in the US has improved as much as 15% from the mid 20th century when cities such as Los Angeles  became almost totally toxic to humans.  The air quality problem now belongs to Beijing in China and New Delhi where industrialization has outstripped their local ability to manage air quality.   We’ve solved out problem, so don’t visit foreign problems on the American citizenry please.  Try blaming China or India for a change.

Greenies are noticeably disturbed by the apparent lack of enthusiasm in the America regarding the supposed global warming.

-           Not only has the “hockey stick” graph been repudiated despite the National Academy of Sciences, begging for papers to prove global warming, but many scientists including a recent Nobel prize winning physicist have come out against what they consider an unscientifically founded fraud pointing to the lack of peer review allowed and the phony figures initially put out by the IPCC and researchers at the English East Anglica campus.

-          Scientists such as Berkley Professor Richard Mueller who recently questioned the accuracy of measurements citing the fact that only 30% of the worlds inhabited area is being measured and those instruments are often found on roofs near warm mechanical exhaust systems for central air plants.

-          NASA has discovered that the earths oceans have receded ¼ inch in last 2 years which means ice is developing somewhere.  This might be why those scientists who continue to measure ice thickness near Greenland and Iceland who loss of ice while they should be measuring in the Siberian artic where it is thickening.  The same goes for Ice loss at McMurdo in the Antarctica continent while it thickens on the other end.

o    Why?   Because with each “deep earthquake” of close to 9.0 starting with the one that caused the Indonesian Tsunami, the earth tilts more on it’s axis and wobbles more in it’s revolutions.

o    This has caused the North Pole to move 40 Miles closer to Moscow and caused southern Greenland where scientists are conducting research to move 40 miles closer to the equator.  After this last earthquake, Japan moved westward by 24 feet and through the law of “dispersement” smaller earthquakes were noted on the east coast of the United States thus fulfilling the Newtons law of action and reaction.  In other words instead of release of pressure at one single point to offset the plate movement westward in Japan, many smaller ones were spread out on the opposite side of the plates (dispersal).

o    Evidence of this has also shown up in different weather patterns since the 9.0 underwater earthquake that caused the Tsunami.  Florida and the Gulf of Mexico has seen less and less hurricane activity since 2005 before the 9.0 earthquake and the Northern US has seen worse winters.  This is due to the worldwide jet stream changing its pattern starting at the Bering Sea.

Global Warming religious fanatics have come under increasing attack despite the fact that green energy businesses have obviously been donating to both democratic and republican candidates and especially almost all of the Republican Presidential candidates who obviously are reading from the same script when they state rather timidly that “well I’m not a scientist but….it this is true, we must take care of our environment”.   This statement has been uttered by each and every republican presidential candidate except Bachman and Cain almost to the word as if they were handed a template statement to read in case they were asked.  Evidence that the Green lobby is nothing to be toyed with and still dangerous.

In fact Americans on their own have made our country’s air cleaner and our rivers and waterways cleaner than ever before and that is despite the “law of unintended consequences”  that occurred when the green movement forced us to buy high yield mercury laden light bulbs that wind up in our land-fills polluting the water table and out seafood.  Also despite the fact that scientists have found that ethanol creates more pollution in our atmosphere than carbon, the politicians still insist on reviving once again the ethanol subsidy, thereby denying corn as a food crop to many emerging countries that depend upon it for food.  This is proof that we can do a lot better than the “Green” lobby to keep our environment clean on our own without their well intentioned but harmful interference.   This lobby has proven and continues to prove it cares nothing for the American citizen who has been doing a far better job cleaning up local environments than the so called “professionals” and amateur scientists have.

What can we conclude?  The religiously “green” are becoming more desperate as we near the elections certain that whoever comes in will attempt to pull some major teeth in the EPA and Energy Dept.,.  Instead of lying low, they are brazenly making no secret of their last minute efforts to destroy our economy and the jobs and well-being of Americans.   November 2012 cannot come too soon or will it then be too late to reverse the damage caused?  Let’s hope we are in time.

Mission Accomplished.....

Aug 2011
Mission
Accomplished (A summary)?

Jim Gschwind PHD

The Despondent Correspondent

Well all the “hoopla” is over….for now at least since they kicked the can down the road and yet as we all know Standard and Poors lowered our credit rating despite the fact that they were complicit in the continuing housing bust by buying those packaged sub-prime loans.  When is that investigation starting?  As well as investigating Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac…Lets get on it Republicans in the House!

I personally predict this compromise will do “nothing” except send us into another recession and possible depression. By the end of the year we will become embroiled again when the evenly divided “special committee”  gridlocks and automatic triggers on medicare or defense seem imminent.  It will be solved or extended by 3 more months probably.  Don’t forget, “they” made the rules, “they” can change them.  “They ignore the constitution because “they” didn’t write it and it “gets in the way”.

Although the bill that stopped the Ethanol subsidy did pass, it obviously didn’t become law, because it is still happening, so expect more food inflation and shortages due to the lack of livestock feed here in the US.  Let’s not forget we are contributing to food shortages in many third world countries that use corn as a food “staple” and increasing famine like conditions among their poorest.  We are so kind to the poor!

Despite being able to turn the debate into cuts rather than revenue raising conservatives and especially tea-party members are being vilified by the administration “attack dogs” who are lashing out at everyone.  I would say that this means “mission accomplished” at least for now if the fanatic liberal left (i.e. progressives) see their agenda starting to unravel and the public in general beginning to blame them more for our present crisis.

We must press on and continue the “good fight” for what is right in this country though fellow conservatives.

I join others who are calling for the departure of our (tax avoiding) Treasury secretary who claimed that we would “not” be downgraded in credit rating and continues to parrot Osama’s stubborn idealistic progressive call to continue his policies that have been totally trashed by the public by now (even democratic press as well as 56% of all Americans).  Remember the definition of “insanity”?  It is defined as repeating the same actions expecting a different result?   Need I say more? They keep repeating and repeating their failed economic agenda in every speech from every corner of the Democratic Party…..Is this Insane?

Instead of being stately and Presidential, Obama has given the worse speech of his life and I watched the Stock Market drop at least 25 points with each passing moment of his self-serving vindictive speech blaming everyone except Carter for the failure of his dismal policies.  He still clings stubbornly as a child to those policies since he has never known “failure” and continues to believe in his oratory “gift” to get him out of trouble.  It’s not working this time, Barry!  Most pundits now believe that speech was the “turning point” (according to Rove) for the progressive left in the 2012 election and that with the economic picture expected to continue as it has possibly into another recession or even a depression for it’s second “dip”, there is no hope for his re-election.  Tea-partiers have targeted Ben Nelson in Nebraska for defeat as well as Bill Nelson in Florida….both appear to be on the ropes for their past votes.  Other senators and representatives are just as important to target for re-election failure in other states.

More proof that the left is running for cover and becoming more desperate is the pathetic ramblings of their former Presidential candidate Al Gore who turned off most independents who have become more uncomfortable with the growing “Climate gate” scandal which enriched Gore’s new Green business ventures incredibly.  Sorry Al, the “hockey stick” theory has been “trashed” and all your evidence has been shown to be manufactured.  Yes the North Pole has moved 40 miles toward Russia, that would allow Southern Greenland and Iceland further south and out of the Iceberg zone.  Ice is building in the Bering Sea as well as where the south pole shifted from the Ross area also 40 miles difference.  And the Polar bear population is actually “growing” and becoming more of a problem in some Canadian provinces.   How can a “history professor” not acknowledge that this has happened many times in the history of our earth?  All the college trained, professional, US Meteorologists have joined together to fight your fake scientists on their unscientific findings.  Ohhh, by the way Al…..the Atmosphere is cleaner worldwide than it has ever been in recorded time and the smog and pollution is less in those traditional cities (L.A., Chicago, NY, etc) has shifted to places like Beijing so GET OFF OUR CASE!  And, I will stock up on normal light bulbs thank-you as your nutcase ecology freaks forgot to tell folks a couple years ago not to throw those fancy green friendly bulbs in their trash and wound up in our landfills to leak mercury into our water and my favorite seafoods!  News flash Al…..your favorite tool to stop US commerce and growth, the EPA, will undoubtedly be “gutted” and have its teeth pulled following the landslide election we will have in 2012.

This name calling is a coming view of the nasty name calling campaign coming up as all the noteworthy progressives have come out of the woodwork to toss some names around from the President on down.  It’s going to be a “nasty one” for sure as shown by the fact that they have come out of the woodwork to start the name calling and even the liberal media has turned on Obama.

That DOES NOT mean that we already have “Mission Accomplished”, it only means, like the low life Al Qaeda operatives, they have retreated to the “political mountains” and now we must take the Senate and the White House to complete the “Mission” and save our country.  We must route them out of their “spider holes” one by one in each state just as the Wisconsin voters have done to save their own state.

Mission is NOT YET ACCOMPLISHED, we are only half-way there and we WILL finish this for good I hope November 2012.

What is Love

Jim Gschwind, PHD  The Despondent Correspondent

What is Love?

Jim Gschwind

Such a simple title to try and explain such a complex subject.  It’s hard sometimes to imagine our lives without love and like many I’ve had many types of love as well as won and lost at love.

I couldn’t possibly begin to describe all the various types of love:   Agape’ love (unconditional) which is the highest form; family love including love between siblings, parents and their children which can best be described as that bond that never disappears no matter how much a family might fight and bicker among themselves; “Best friend” love is just a comfortable familiarity of knowing you can be yourself at all times; Soul-mate love which encompasses many of the previous definitions; a “fictitious” love at first sight and finally the “false” notion of love as passion and lust.

I am reminded of an old movie that was one of my favorites with Jimmy Stewart called “Shenandoah”.  This movie to me contained so many life lessons that I took to heart.   I remember the scene when young Doug McClure nervously came in to see Jimmy Stewart to ask for his daughters hand and I’ll try and share it with you as it reminds me so much of the love of my life and my soul-mate of 19 years who just passed away and luckily became assigned as my new guardian angel.  In fact when we were dating many years ago and didn’t know we were in love yet, I tried to do my best Jimmy Stewart (it’s pretty good) and recited the scenes by heart and brought a beautiful smile to her eyes and lips.  I think that’s what I really did to win her heart back then. It goes like this:

Doug McClure (Sam):  “Sir I’d like to ask for your daughters hand in marriage”

Jimmy Stewart:  “Why Sam?  Do you like her?

Doug:  “No Sir I love her”

Jimmy:   “No…No…No…I asked if you liked her Sam…you see…you can love someone without liking them and you can learn to love but not learn to like.  If you love a woman without liking them first, the nights can be cold.   I think I was married to Margaret for awhile and I liked her…..I liked her a lot….when one day it just dawned on me that I loved her”

Doug:  “Oh sir, I’ve always liked Jenny, I always liked her a lot”.

Jimmy:   “Well then you take her Sam and treat her right because if you don’t …..it’s going to be between me and you…..”

I think one can easily see why that was always one of my greatest life lessons back when movies actually taught us a moral story.

I don’t think I really took it to heart until I met my recent love.  Ours was a special love.  She had a wonderful smile on her face and beautiful eyes that told me there was a special soul inside.  Like many men my age it took me a few failures to figure out that what we think we want when we are young and the hormones are raging isn’t quite what it cracked up to be.   Love based on pure passion and physical attraction loses it’s “fizzle” just as a soda goes flat quickly.  There was something I just couldn’t put my finger on with this woman.   In fact I met her a night when my best friend and I after work were doing the karaoke circuit and I was singing.  Suddenly a woman (who it turned out later was a “caregiver” locally and was on her only night off) started dancing alone in front of me as I sang “Teddy Bear”.  I was really irritated because she was taking my concentration off the song.  I had made a bet with my friend that I could get anyone’s phone number that night.  I got hers.  In fact I “scored” a number of phone numbers from some pretty strange individuals and when we got back to my apartment I threw them away one by one until the very last one……hers and quietly slipped it into my top pocket.  By the way I’d often sing “Goodbye Norma Jean” for her and one of her last wishes was for me to sing that song for her since it was her name.  I do often.  As a tribute to the night we met and the song I was singing, I always received a “teddy bear” from her every Christmas.

To make a long story short, I did a lot of romantic antics to win her heart, but I think the story above did it for her and me.  We went down to the courthouse to get a license and on a whim allowed the clerk to do it right then and there.

Yes I liked her a lot but had never really experienced true “soul-mate” love and about a year later I was sitting on the back porch just thinking and it just occurred to me that I really loved this lady.  I remembered again my favorite movie.

We spent 19 wonderful years together and had joy and sorrow together as many couples do and our love grew each and every day to the point where we couldn’t stand to go or do anything without the other.  We bought and rebuilt our home three times after hurricanes together.  She grew up a poor Mississippi sharecroppers daughter picking cotton after school, second youngest of nine and I was determined to give her a better life and became more ambitious late in my life.  In fact during these last couple years I’ve worked away from her coming home every 5 or 6 weeks for a few days and spending countless hours on the phone with her.  We actually grew closer and closer.

In the past couple months as she became terminally ill.  I found myself selfishly crying over losing the only wonderful thing in my life….how selfish this was as she never complained.  By the time I bought her a cruise as a present, she wasn’t able to take it.  I sunk into deep depression myself knowing that all my love was “too late”.  Our division of labor in the house was; she paid the bills and I earned and kept getting promoted and sending all the money home.

Recently the hospice had told me I had better start my 18 hour drive home from work.  As I was packing and getting ready to go, she called and said, you don’t have much leave from coming home all the time, save it…for when we need it.  I stayed packed until at work two days later she called and said “honey, come home….it’s time”.  I made it in record time.

I spent her last 24 hours holding her hand and praying for God to give her a repreave or not let her suffer.  She refused the morphine.  She continued to smile the whole time, as I lay my head on her body and cried unabashed like a baby, praying for her not to leave but to take me also.   In her last hour, I selfishly would gently push on her diaphragm unnoticed hoping and praying for one more breath until the little gasps became more spaced and finally her chest didn’t rise again and her hand went limp in mine.  I thought for a moment I could still see her beside me comforting me and saying “it’s alright”.  She passed on the anniversary of my youngest sisters’ untimely death and I thought I could hear her voice in my head telling me it was okay.

Amid the confusion of having the funeral home and nurses arrange her departure from our home of 19 years, I managed to get a lock of her hair and became angry when they wouldn’t let me walk her out to the waiting funeral home vehicle from the house.

I realized how much I loved her then but a day later when I started going through our bills and trying to distract myself with paperwork. I found her last scribbled note on a ragged piece of scratch paper….”Goodbye my love…sorry I hurt you…Love Jean).  It was then that the tears started all over again and reaffirmed my love and what losing it meant to me.

In my lonliness I take that worn note to this day out of my top pocket and the tears slowly ooze from my eyes everytime I read it….I didn’t understand how she thought she hurt me!  I would walk slowly through “our” home and suddenly she was “everywhere” with me comforting me.

Then it dawned on me.  God had replaced that sorry excuse for a Guardian Angel I had before and given her back to me as my new Angel.   She is with me at all times.

That my friends is how I found love and instead of losing it this time was able to “keep it”.

Goodbye Norma Jean………….My love.

The "Holy" Donkey by Jerry Gschwind

Authored by Jerry Gschwind (cousin to the Despondent Correspondent...runs in family?)

One cold snowy Christmas Night,
a homeless boy stumbled and fell.
Covered with snow, snow flakes clinging to his tears,
the child died.
His clothes were rags.  He had no shoes.
But he loved and hoped in Jesus.
Thus when he died, the Angels quickly came and
carried him up and away, high up to the midnight sky.
You can see his star sparkle if you look hard enough.

Then The Day came, when God called all His Saints
to ride with Him to Jerusalem, to fight the devil and
the anti-Christ as foretold in The Bible.
And Jesus burst through the clouds riding upon on a magnificent white stallion...
and all The Saints behind Him, rode on almost equally
beautiful white horses.
"What about me?", the little boy asked.
"Where's my horse?"
All The Saints giggled at the sight of his plight.
For he was small and how could he ride such a big horse?

Then Gabriel, The Arch Angel said, "Here, you ride this one."
The boy's eyes grew wide, then he frowned.
"Why this is just a donkey...and an ugly one at that!"
Gabriel smiled, "Son, you ride This Donkey and follow us into Jerusalem.
You will be the last to enter in through the gate."
"What?", the boy choked back his tears...
"I've got to ride this dumb donkey...and come in last?"
Tears welled up in his eyes.

"Yes", Gabriel said, "Jesus wants you to ride this poor donkey into Jerusalem
with much honor and pride.  You see, that donkey is the donkey Jesus rode
when He first came to Jerusalem long, long ago.

An expression of both wonderment and joy shone on the boy's face.
And the donkey nuzzled his muzzle against the little boy nudging him
to get on.  So the little boy jumped with Great Joy onto Jesus' Donkey...
and rode into Jerusalem That Great day of The Lord...last...but triumphantly...
on The Lord Jesus' Donkey.

AND NOW?........THE TICKET(S)?

AND NOW…….THE TICKET(S)?

Jim Gschwind PHD

The Despondent Correspondent
(Note:  Will be taking a Haitus for major sugery but as soon as I'm able will be hitting laptop.  Carry on fellow conservatives and fear not!!!)

Although I’d love to take a break from this “exciting” primary season, just couldn’t help all the brew-ha being tossed around now about possible “deals” for a VP candidate to round out perceived weaknesses in the Romney and Gingrich camps.

Mind you, I’m still holding out to see if a “real conservative” instead of these two “faux” conservatives (i.e. “I’m a conservative because I’m telling you I am!”) suddently bolts to the forefront of the race.  I agree with many pundits in that the field will be very vetted once we get to next late spring early summer before the convention.  I only pray that a real conservative is on a ticket if I have to hold my nose again for a lukewarm rino like I did in 2008.  History has proven though that primaries are full of surprises and that even the front-runner in Iowa is not a shoo-in regardless of the party going through the process.  If one will remember, at this point in 2008 Juliano was leading for the republicans and Hillary was the democratic lead.  Boy did that change.  And as I predict will happen this year Mitt never got over 25% in 2008 and is stuck at the number throughout the race in 2011/2012 with his chances looking dim especially when he has to confront the religious right/tea partiers in the south starting with South Carolina.  As I understand it, even his supposed “favorite son” state since he has a home there in New Hampshire is not warming up to Romney as he expects.

The “real conservatives” such as Bachman, Santorum are still in single digits and are not exciting the tea party who represent the party wishes this election cycle more than the moderate or “establishment type insiders in the party who don’t want to “offend” the moderates in either party and want a more liberal republican to take the race home.  Most of us that represent the actual voters are leaning more toward the feeling that the country has gone too far left and that the only hope of saving the republic is to have a “real” conservative take us back into salvation.  Alas, that Messiah has not appeared to surface yet although many thought Cain was charismatic and conservative enough to take us there before he bowed out of the race to protect his family from relentless unfounded character assassinations.  Is it any wonder why we have such a lack of good, decent individuals willing to endure this gauntlet in public life.  It will eventually get to the point where we really won’t have anyone on either side willing to lead the republic or even serve in public life at the local level if the politics of destruction becomes more and more the normal course of events.

I won’t even mention Ron Paul as his yuppy followers will undoubtedly stuff the ballot box for him in Iowa and it cheapens the race in that state to see this happen.  I’ve seen it happen in many conferences to date.  I consider him “dangerous” on the foreign affairs scene especially.  I cannot and will not support and “isolationist” who would allow Iran to obtain and eventually “use”  nuclear weapons.  He reminds me of a childish Obama who if missiles were on the way, would want to “talk” about it rather than act.  A Friend of mine mentioned accurately that he is so far right that he has actually come around in the circle to join the extreme left, much like a ring or circle.  Perry and Huntsman are “out of it” as they are both liberals in sheeps clothing as their public comments have indicated on immigration, abortion and cap and trade.

Newt is losing steam as more and more individuals hear of his “insider beltway” connections and dealings/lobbying for Fannie Mae and influencing other well known legislation.  He continues to lay verbal land mines to the detriment of his own campaign.  He should know that most people might agree with the things he says but really don’t want to hear a politician say it out loud, but then Newt loves to hear his voice.  I’m not at all convinced this is the “New Newt” or the old one that helped Pelosi in her infocommercial and believes in global warming.  Mitt remains the same and most are still reluctant and want “anybody but Mitt” still remembering his comments about the health care mandate after it was passed in Massachusetts when he said it would be good for the nation also.  Many will not forgive this plus he just doesn’t “excite” or give passion to the mass of voters.

For these reasons and after looking at the last debate, I’ve come to some astute observations regarding what I feel is their tendency at this point to “team up”(Mitt and Newt as frontrunners in trouble) to shore up their publicly perceived failings.  I believe some backroom deals have been made already.

I noticed that while Romney was able to stay above the fray, it appeared he was setting up Michelle Bachman to “spike the ball” at the net and play attack dog for him against what he perceived as his major threat which was Gingrich.  She was “on him” throughout the debate with a commendable performance while Romney stayed “aloof” and “presidential”.  He knows he needs tea party support and what better way to shore up his campaign than to have a popular tea party conservative to fill in the gaps where he appears more moderate or liberal.  I think a deal has been reached here.

When popular tea party conservative became tired of the constant unfounded character assassinations and made his withdrawal announcement, remember it was only a “suspension” of his campaign.  He remains on the sidelines sniping at Romney and Perry and Huntsman.  He has not at any time challenged his long time fellow Georgian and friend Newt Gingrich who he constantly had as a guest over the years on his radio show out of WSB Atlanta and lets face it, if anyone was open to valid attack as a Washington insider it was and is Newt.  They have been friends a long time.   I believe when Herman said he consulted with other candidates (especially Newt) and then during his withdrawal announcement said that he “would continue to be involved” in the process and will be visible and vocal, it meant he had made a VP deal with Newt because Newts numbers immediately went up after Cains’ departure.  Prior to his departure many conservatives and tea party activists considered Newt and Herman to be their “dream team”.  Maybe they are on to something.  But can Herman contain, Newts occasional public outbursts when he just “has to say what is on his mind”?  Depends I guess on whether we are dealing with the “reinvented” Newt (Remind you of Nixon?) or the “old” pompus and arrogant Newt.

So it appears it will be two “tickets” competing for the nomination instead of individuals.  A flip-flopper presidential candidate and a real conservative as the VP on each ticket to balance each other out?  Will that work?  Does the American voter really want and believe only a true conservative as the presidential candidate or will they compromise and hold their noses enough if there is an actual true conservative balancing the ticket?  We shall see, this should be very interesting.

One less.....Now what?

One Less!....Now What?

Jim Gschwind PHD

The Despondent Correspondent

Farewell Herman!  We will miss you but need you to stay “active” and “involved” in this excruciatingly long process.    Now to the most important question of the day to die hard true conservatives such as myself…..NOW WHAT?  Or more aptly..Now who?   I’m not going to bore you with more punditry on how this was a “lynching” similar to what has happened to other black conservatives in the public limelight so I won’t.  You either believe the baloney or you don’t.  I still don’t know how a man who was devoted to his wife to the point where he insisted to WSB radio in Atlanta that he broadcast from home so he could care for her during this period of supposed infidelity could possibly be accused of such unfaithfulness.  This is even after his receptionist and private secretary/assistant of many years said that if anything was going on she would have been one of the first to know and that in all the years she knew him, nothing like that happened.  But it is OVER and we still have to find a decent  conservative to beat Obama.  I am at wits end as many of you are as now we are starting to face the prospect that we faced 4 years ago where we had to hold our nose to vote the least of two evils.

Granted none of us will ever find the “perfect” conservative candidate that agrees with each and every philosophy that many of us hold but are we ever going to get a “break”?  I’m hoping the “one issue” voters out there take heed that this is a very, very dangerous time and election.  Abandon those “one issue” thoughts and think for the better good of all.  We have a perfect opportunity with such a weak and unpopular president to have a great conservative bring us back from the “brink” and there doesn’t seem to be anybody on the horizon.   Most of the field that is left are the McCain styled wishy washy “rinos” the traditional republican moderates want.  Then there is Newt who one never knows what he is going to say or do.  The original loose cannon for sure but most of the time he shots that cannon off at his own foot.  I must also admit I still can’t get the taste nor the visual image of him smiling sympatically with Nancy Pelosi in that horrible commercial.  You talk about the proverbial “insider” and he’s still pulling off shady “insider” deals while he’s running.  Ron Paul is probably so far right wing in the “circle” that he’s coming around the other side to meet the other end of the circle which is extreme left (especially in his foreign affairs approach which scares the dickens out of most except the “kids” that haven’t matured enough yet to know how scary he really is)   The youngsters  make up most of his base and I’ve seen them stuffing the straw ballot boxes for him at sessions such as CPAC 2011 as well as other venues.  That’s the only reason he wins those straw polls, in case you’ve been wondering.  Rick Perry has had his moment and doesn’t seem to be on the come-back trail as well as Bachman who was at one time leading in the polls also.  That leaves only Santorum who hasn’t led in a poll yet and no wonder as he is about as exciting as a mouthful of mashed potatoes.  What do we have left?  Does this mean the “rino” establishment republican, who never fight back when attacked by the liberal/progressives win?  How is one of “them” going to protect what liberties and cash we have left?

My only advice at this moment is to “pray” and “pray” hard that a real conservative and not these “wanna-be” conservatives starts making his or her  move and I really don’t know and can’t tell you who it would be and I don’t know who I would vote for at this moment without holding my nose as I did four years ago.  All I know is we will NOT survive as the nation we know and love if Obama and his thugs, communists, Stalinists and anarchists are given four more years.   This is probably the most critical time in our history.  Don’t look to me for advice, I’m praying  already.  The only thing I can tell you true blue conservatives out there is go with your heart, pray, and whatever you do, don’t let the “emperor” stay in office four more years or we’ll be seeing him declare marshal law and suspending elections, congress or all the above.

May God help us all and this great nation that was conceived “under God”!!!

You can't Fix Stupid!!!!

You just can’t fix “Stupid”!!!

Jim Gschwind PHD

The Despondent Correspondent

(Authors note:  I am sorry for the couple week hiatus from writing to my loyal readers, some of whom I have actually accidentally met in person.  After losing my soul-mate and best friend I made a vow that I would not stop my purposeful efforts to voice what many of you are already thinking.  I between preparing to leave Washington DC for my permanent home in NW Florida that I had shared with her due to my forthcoming surgery and final work retirement, I have been remiss in my duty to my country and friends and of course enemies in bringing to you subjects of high importance in these turbulent days.  I renew my vow to continue despite personal attacks from some who are misguided. Perhaps I should change my by-line from my old Vietnam nickname to a new one “The Undaunted Correspondent”.)

A friend of mine recently voiced the title of this piece and gave me the idea behind its conception.  I must admit in an effort to avoid plagiarism that I’ve heard this quotation before but my pain pill addled mind just cannot for the life of me remember where I heard it.  It reminds me of John Wayne’s famous quote that “life is tough…it’s even tougher when you are stupid”.   How else can I bring to you loyal readers my dismay at the way “establishment” republicans continually allow liberal/progressive demonizing attacks on our objectives and candidates?   When will our front line politicians finally “get-it” that they cannot just “get along” with such a despotic enemy as the progressive movement.  They continually label us conservatives as “racist” despite the fact that we can now count many intelligent individuals of many ethnic groups as fellow conservatives and that even Martin Luther King was a Republican.  Our “Grand Old Party” had its origins in the fight against anti-slavery in Lincolns time and has never abandoned this main concept and has tried to fulfill the constitutional vision of all men are created equal.  Yet at every turn the hate and race-baiting continues from the “enemy”.  Yes I said “enemy” just as our President called us the “enemy”.  When are we going to stand up for ourselves and when will the establishment republicans cease this futile effort to “just get along” despite the constant demonizing?   When will the “establishment” understand once and for all  that conservatives (real conservatives, not these waffling “rinos”) can turn this country around by returning to basics of the American Dream and capitalism?  It seems that we as conservatives spend more time fighting our fellow republicans than the real “enemy” who is tearing our country apart.  We all agree that Obama and his progressive/Marxist (yes and he admitted it in his biography) and crony “national socialism” based upon the European model  are dangerous to this country and our childrens hope of having the American Dream.  This indeed is “stupid” and MUST be fixed for our very survival.

What has been worrying me particularly is the fact that many Americans do not see the resemblance today to what was happening in the Weimer Republic (Germany)) in the late 1920s and early 1930s.  It has been brought home very realistically to me during this OWS movement.   This movement has been proven to be backed by progressives such as George Soros and the Labor Union leaders who have taken the place of the communist worldwide labor movement.  Most Americans today understand the need for unions to protect workers back in their heyday of the early 20th century when businesses treated their employees in the garment district New York for example as “slave labor”.  Business schools across the country have since corrected this and we have had generations of business executives now that are called “transitional leaders” or those who desire a “learning” organization for success where every individual counts and have learned to emphasize the fact that in business, their manpower if allowed to  think and flourish/succeed on their own actually are a “plus” for good business.  Union membership in this era has dramatically gone down due to this new business leadership concept and business has in fact become more of a protector of its most valuable resource, people, than unions do today.

Now to the point that worries me to no end.  I hear from common folks every day, not those unaffected by the current recession here in DC who hardly notice the ongoing depression and its effects on the rest of the country.  What I hear is we have lost control of our country and that   the current leadership (Obama and his violent Chicago hoodlums) actually want this country to fail as a world leader.  Common thought is that the OWS rabble actually resemble Hitlers “brown shirts” from another era and that the progressives WANT this disorder to distract from real issues, just as they use demonizing falsehoods and attacks on our candidates using the politics of destruction on each and every one of them in an effort to maintain their political stranglehold.   The President has laughed at congress despite the fact that his Democrats controlled it  for over two years and now can control it through gridlock in the Senate, thus allowing the President to rule by Executive Order, establishing more and more destructive regulations stimying growth and jobs in this country.  Then he goes off to play and enjoy his Presidential perks of office.  This brings to mind how Hitler used and demonized the communists and when the Reichstag burned blamed them and declared martial law and thus became a dictator and the third Reich was born.  He did this through violence in the streets which he enjoyed (remind you of Pelosi and Obama?) that he used to distract the Germans in that day from what was really happening.  This brings home a very sobering worry of mine that perhaps we are BEING SET UP for martial law prior to the elections if they think they will lose and they become more concerned about this each and every day.  They spurn the Constitution just as their founder Woodrow Wilson did with WWI as the excuse to rob individuals of their liberty.  Pelosi during the Obama Care debate once was asked by a reporter if she though the bill was “constitutional” and she turned to him and stared outraged and said “are you kidding?”.  Already we have had a democratic governor speaking publicly about “delaying” elections until we got the economy under control?  With Obamas backing of the OWS crowd and his “community organizer” friends in that crowd, one can only wonder what we are being PREPARED for.

I had a college professor 30 years ago that once told us in a senior political science class that the real danger to a “representative republic” like ours was not communism but actually “national socialism” which is the “control of the means of production vice ownership of the means of production that the communists espouse. We practiced this already with the production committees and War Production boards used in WWI and WWII.   Yes  that translates to Nazism such as practiced by Mussolini and Hitler and Franco in Europe during the last century.   This same professor also shared my distrust of doctors and went on to prove that any president that died in office would have lived if they had NOT called a doctor and  he went about proving it.  But back to politics….If what this professor said has any truth to it, we as Americans must be more vigilant  that this does not come to fruition.    My big fear is that with these civil disturbances (actually condoned by the president and his henchmen) helping the progressives distract us from the real issues, we might fall victim to “National Socialism” just as the Germans and Italians fell for it 80 years ago.  Both dictators used civil unrest and labor unions to help them convince the public that “marshal law” had to be declared for “their own protection”.

To prevent this from happening we cannot be “stupid” and must be aware of this danger and possibility just as my brilliant college professor taught us.  It can sneak up on us and before we know it, we will no longer be the great America we once knew and want our children and grandchildren to experience.  It is not too late to FIX stupid and we must fight back as strongly as we are being attacked.  We must understand that the “enemy” does not care that we just want to “get along” (they actually want this attitude- it is the same as Neville Chamberlins’ “Peace in our Time”).  Our Republican leaders….Mr. Boehner especially, hold the line and learn to negotiate harder and keep the line drawn in the sand that they cannot cross.    As far as our candidates are concerned the only ones I have not seen as “waffling” are Santorum, Bachman and Cain.  Even  Newt had the audacity to sit with Pelosi and do a climate warming commercial that he now says was “stupid”…..well I don’t think that excuse is good enough.  I am tired of establishment republicans telling us conservatives are not “electable” when their candidate (Romney) has had so many political “face-lifts” since 2008 you can’t even recognize him any longer and he can never get above the percentile he has now which coincidentally is the same amount that supported him at the end of 2008.   It’s not just someone’s “turn” folks, I don’t care how many times or how long they’ve been the “bridesmaid”. The American Conservative voter constitutes 41 percent of the population by recent polling and only 20 percent say they are liberal and it is about time we stop allowing the minority to rule the rest of us as the majority.

If we fall for these ruses….we indeed are stupid….and deserve whatever happens and unfortunately by then it will be too late to FIX STUPID.

Green Industry Influence in Republican Primaries

“Green” powerbase influence on Republican Establishment and Primaries?

Jim Gschwind PHD

A couple historical items first:

1.        The global warming, climatology doomsayers have been totally discredited due to their lack of peer review and proper scientific method as shown by a leading Physicist resigning from Academy of Sciences after winning Nobel award as well as others scientists finally getting around the IPCC and Penn State self imposed “gag rule” and be able to refute this utter nonsense.

a.       The “gag rule” is another way of saying that “if you don’t agree with us, you are totally going against something that is ABSOLUTE and truthful and are hateful, non scientific lower life-form”.  Of course that’s paraphrasing, but it sums it up nicely so that I don’t have to go into long discourses about conferences where dissenters were not allowed and the only attendees that were allowed were those who signed a document at conference “check-in” stating that global warming was an agreed upon scientific “fact”.

b.      IPCC and Penn State emails that were uncovered during “climate-gate” scandal at East Anglica in UK were not very secretive about the fact that the “hockey-stick” graph was a hoax and that scientists at those institutions were intent on NOT allowing opposing peer review articles to appear from other scientists and were very intent on keeping the grants,  government loans  and money flowing despite their inability to prove the warming they professed.

c.       The world, but mostly European and American public are now 70% unconvinced due to the scandal/hoax being made public and other scientific information being made public such as:

                                                                           i.      The worlds oceans have receeded ¼ inch in the past two years.  Yes, little did we know that when President Obama took office and predicted this, that it would indeed be one of the only things he would predict correctly.  However, he is not Moses and did not cause it.

ii.      This is evidence that no matter how much “green” scientists measure ice fields in the North Atlantic, they fail to notice the increasing ice fields in an opposite ocean as the magnetic north and south poles slightly shift with each passing “deep” 9.0 earthquake and tsunami.  The North Pole is 40 miles closer to Russia than it was a decade ago, which means Greenland is getting warmer as those poles shift, but the Bering Sea and that portion of the Artic Ocean IS NOT.

iii.      Despite Al Gore’s panic…….NO…Polar Bears don’t drown and love to swim and can do so up to 75 miles at once.  In fact the polar bear population has increased in some portions of Canada to the point where actually have to have controlled “hunts” since there are no natural predators.

2.       The US Government has squandered approximately 80 billion in 20 years on various “green” projects while allowing our natural gas and other home grown “energy” resources to be largely ignored.  The Result:

a.       Failed solar panel companies that cannot compete with cheap Chinese products.  A jobs “czar” Jeffrey Immelt who is supposed to produce jobs here but orders his GE corporation to take their business (even new “green” business) to more foreign countries and especially china, than almost any other CEO.  And HE works for the Administration?

b.      New long lasting light bulbs that pollute the water table and eventually the ocean and our seafood, causing mercury to leak into the environment at increased pace.

c.       Increased EPA mandates on the use of Ethanol despite congress voting against renewing the Corn subsidy?

                                                                           i.      They want up to 85% now in most gasolines causing many farmers to ignore farming for food and take up full time farming for bio-fuels, especially ethanol which has recently been proven to be more harmful to the atmosphere and clean air than carbon ever was.

ii.      This is causing food shortages across the globe and especially in “emerging” countries where corn is a primary food staple.

iii.      (p.s., this will also destroy most modern automobile engines).

d.      Two massive agencies, the EPA and the Energy Department  have “suffocated” the American Dream with their out of control regulation to the point where those who created them can no longer control them and they are able to ignore congress and the voters desires at will.  Recent  news reports indicate another “email scandal”  discovered in EPA regarding West Texas proposed oil field showed where regulators had purposely “made it up” regarding endangered species to “stop at any means” oil exploration and development.  Where is the “accountability”?

So NOW, where does the Republican “establishment”  stand and especially their hand-chosen “saviors” in the primaries?

We all are well aware that the “establishment” republicans prefer not to rock the boat especially with such a huge financial sector of the economy as “green” industries.  These new industrial powers are donating vast sums of money to ensure future politicians and representatives DO NOT attempt to reverse this large industrial trend toward unstable “green” economy.   Unknown to most observers, over the years….a large portion of the US economy has been “hi-jacked” by the “greenies” and they are hauling in grants, loans and inordinate amounts of cash, hand over fist.

K Street itself (bastion of the large US political lobby groups), has basically been overrun by these new “green” interests.  Their money believe it or not continues to come from the American Taxpayer, so in essence, you as a taxpayer are enabling them through your congress to steal more and more.  This has gotten so pervasive that each and every Government agency “has” to state and show that they have a “green team” working feverishly to rid ourselves of  “evil fossil fuels”  even though the fracking process has been improved and made safe for drilling for the vast CLEAN natural gas reserves that have recently been discovered.   Yep….we CAN be energy independent and even EXPORT if we have a mind to.

Let’s answer the question I posed above….or can we tell the difference.  I find it strange and otherwise disturbing that the following individuals who the Republican establishment has put forward as “their” (don’t rock the boat) candidates have all responded as one.  In fact the wording is as if they were reading  it off the same teleprompter!    Here is how Romney, Gingrich, Huntsman, and Perry all responded when questioned by the press:

“well I’m not a scientist, but I believe that there is some sort of global warming occurring and I don’t know how much is being caused by humans, but we must keep trying to find ways to protect our environment and resources for the future by finding ‘alternate’ means of producing energy so that we are not dependent upon foreign oil”.

Once again this was only “partially paraphrased” as most of the exact same words were used by ALL of these candidates especially the part where they ALL started by stating “well, I’m not a scientist, BUT....”.   Hmmmm?  I KNOW all these ponderings are in dangerous territory dealing with dangerous people but……I’m probably already on that “secret list” anyway.

Who does the “establishment” republican organization think they are fooling?  Doesn’t it make YOU wonder?

Handbook for a new 13 Year Old

For those who are suprised.  My mind isn't ALWAYS on politics and climategate.

Handbook? For a New 13 year old?

An Open letter from Grandpa!

Jim Gschwind, PHD

The Despondent Correspondent

I have seven grandchildren (only one a girl) and all are nice family oriented loving children and grandchildren.  How that happened is beyond me as I was not a very good single father in the Pentagon back in the days when that was an “oddity”, but somehow my wonderful military wife of a daughter has learned parenting better than her old man, thank God.  We all know that as parents we were never issued a standard, handbook such as “parenting for dummies”, but we all know and pray that our children and our grandchildren don’t make the same mistakes as we did and have a better life.  Unfortunately the way things really are doesn’t make this easy as young teenagers always tend not to listen to their elders for wisdom and experience but would rather listen to some questionable peers and supposed “friends” and then suddenly wonder how their parents got so smart over a few years when they turn 20.    I am no exception and worry endlessly about my children and grandchildren and perhaps the grandchildren more-so as I’ve made my mistakes parenting and it’s a miracle my children are still alive much less doing well, so lately in my advanced years, I spend more time trying to talk and impart my special brand of grandpa wisdom to the grandchildren who give me a “second chance”.  So here goes.

To the grandson who just turned 13.  I hope this will help somewhat.  I’ve tried to tell you how important these next three or four years are in your life and how confusing they will be.  They can either be the happiest time of your life or the most troublesome or even a mixture which is probably more appropriate.    These years will determine what type of man or woman a person will become more than any other time in your life.  When you become a young adult you won’t be able to blame your parents for “how you turned out”.  Only you can get through this and yes, it will end at some point and you will probably breathe a sigh of relief.  You won’t want to listen to older people who have gone through it but will rather listen to your friends and of course just like your parents and I did, make your own mistakes because of course “you know it all already” and you are ready to tackle and change the world we have messed up for you.

The following guidelines are not only meant to guide you through these troubling times but also I pray and hope  for you to pass onto the next brother or sister in line who will enter these young teenage years.

1.        Your hormones are “raging” and sometimes it will seem, you will stay a virgin forever.  Don’t rush it.  As you get older you will find that this girl versus boy game, becomes less and less important.  The important thing is not to look too hard for that someone special nor try and force the issue.  There are a lot of evil people out there (Will Rodgers was wrong, everyone ISN’T nice) and I don’t want you to wind up with and be miserable with the wrong person for the wrong reason.  You can’t hold a partner with sex, no matter how good either one of you are at this, but those raging hormones will try and tell you otherwise.   You have to really like someone first as you can “learn to love” but “can’t learn to like” and you can’t love anything or anybody without first liking yourself and others.  It took me a long time to find my soul-mate after many mishaps and I don’t know if I really loved her at first but I liked her A LOT and then one day it just  “dawned on me that I loved her”, and we were also best friends so that even when things were not going well we knew each other would be there.  You want to see or know you’re your girlfriend will be like, go over and meet her mom…..you’d be surprised….the most beautiful girl in school won’t have all those looks forever and may surprise you at age 25 or 30 while the average wallflower in middle school or high school, might turn into the most beautiful grown woman you ever laid eyes upon, but never, never , never judge a person by their looks.  The real beauty can’t immediately be seen.  Everyone doesn’t get lucky and finally find this secret in life.  That IS the loving type of relationship I truly wish for you.

2.        Your parents love you and are not stupid.  I know you won’t want to “confide” in them.  Try not to place most of your trust in your fellow classmates and peers, they are just as lost as you are.  Most smart kids will find a counselor, teacher or coach that somehow they can open up to….and that is wise and healthy.   On the subject of friendship always know that a “true” friend is one that wants you to do good and succeed, not one that will encourage you on a dare to get in trouble and do things you wouldn’t ordinarily do and things that you know inside to be wrong.  True friends are not friends who forget you when you are out of sight studying nor later in life are they the ones who will listen to you in a bar over some sad music and abandon you when you can no longer buy a round.   You will discover that “party” friends are gone when it’s time to clean up from the party, and that’s life.  You will also be amazed that your parents got so smart over a few years when you turn 20.

3.       I  encourage you to find a “passion” and make it your life’s work, whether it’s writing all my feelings and thoughts such as your grandfather does and singing in public or your mothers “art” or your fathers passion for sports.  Some of my happiest times were only earning $70 a night in a nightclub lounge singing my heart out.  If your job is doing something you are passionate about, you will be very lucky and happy throughout your life.  Remember what Steve Jobs of Apple said “if you wake up every morning and find you are not excited about getting up and at it, then something has to change in your life”.    Do not be afraid to take changes and gambles in life as long as it doesn’t hurt others and there will be times in this changing world where you will have to “reinvent” yourself many times as I have.  I’ve made money and lost money…….I’ve received charity, slept in my car, stood in a soup line but I’ve also had great adventures.  I’ve probably not lived life in the front row of history but neither was I in the nosebleed section either, always at the right place at the right time.  I’ve been called Rennaissanceman and one of your relatives has called me the “Dos-Equis Man”  and another has likened me to the lifestyle Hemingway lived (before your time) because I have not been afraid of starting over or doing something different and have therefore done and accomplished a lot in my life.  I’m not ashamed of that and if you’d ask me, I’d probably do it all the same except hopefully meet my best love earlier in life and spend as much time with her as I could before she passed.

4.       Do not be afraid to “fail” and there are those who will try to keep you down.  Remember this though, people will  judge you not just on your failure but by your failure to Learn from it.  The true measure of a man or woman is not that they fail, but how they pick themselves and press on and learn from that experience.   You will never be perfect so expect failure and don’t give up after one or two failures.  Remember Lincoln, was not a good lawyer and was poor, went bankrupt in business and failed at every election except President.  Above all, don’t waste all your valuable years which we are given very few of, by feeling sorry for yourself for failing.   Life is NOT fair and as I like to quote the “duke”…”Life is tough….it’s even tougher if you’re stupid!”.  I told your uncle once that it’s harder to get your reputation back with others over doing one thing bad and they will remember that “one” thing rather than remember all the good you’ve accomplished.  Military guys call it “one ‘aw-s#%t’…..wipes out a thousand ‘atta-boys’” and it’s the truth.

5.       Above all, don’t push away true friends and especially your family.  Going through life after pushing family away and trying to prove you can do it all yourself is cold and empty and you will not like that feeling as you get older (and we all do that).  You’ll be amazed how fast life and time flies by and it will fill you with regret that you didn’t have those special close people to share your successes and failures.  We NEED other people in our lives to succeed and fail and what good is succeeding and basking in that glory even temporarily if you’ve pushed family and friends away and you cannot SHARE that good feeling with someone?  God made us as “social beings” not “loners”.

6.       Considering how my generation which followed the “greatest generation”  during the great depression and WWII, has really messed up your future as an American, I am firmly convinced that you and your generation MUST BECOME another GREATEST GENERATION.  Your great grandfather was a great military (low level though) leader and made his bones very young in the service and used techniques that were years ahead of leadership “writers” and theorists.  Remember, that the best leaders empathize with those they lead and there is a “relationship” between a good leader and those who follow him/her.  My Dad (your great grandfather) once said  “Management is getting a bunch of people to do one thing at one time…….Leadership is gettin’ ‘em to like it.”.  I know you will be a leader and not a “follower”.  Leaders are not just political leaders and military leaders, they are all around us in everyday life.

7.       Don’t be afraid to go with “your gut” instinct on a decision.  Many scientists have found that we are usually 70% more correct when we do.  My PHD study showed that most “instinctive” crisis decisions are “altruistic” (i.e. meant to help others) and that the longer we dwell on a decision, the more messed up it becomes and the more “selfish” our decision becomes.

I wish you a wonderful life, love and success.  Always remember that there IS a God and we know that just by looking at the miracle of our birth and lives and our ability to rationalize and reason; cry and laugh.  Remember these next few years will lay the foundation on what type of “character” you build that life upon.   It’s all up to you.  Give this letter to your next youngest brother when he turns 13.

Love Grandpa

Religion in Politics?

The “Religion” of Politics

The Despondent Correspondent

Jim Gschwind, PHD

Despite my earlier efforts to “soften” the blow, it was bound to happen eventually. For months pundits and candidates have been “skirting” the issue and denying its very existence but religion has and will be part and parcel of politics as long as freedom of religion and freedom of speech are both honored in this great country.

Let me lead of by NOT saying, “I told you so”, earlier (which I did on numerous occasions), but by giving you some inkling why I believe I have some sort of say in this issue. Let me also state that it was very brave of that Dallas Pastor for NOT tip-toeing around the issue which has been on all of our minds whether we wanted to admit it or not but were all (except me) afraid to bring up in polite discussion. I do not think however that the words “bigot” and other less flattering words are appropriate for defining different religious views just as they were not flattering when Al Smith and John Kennedy ran for President as Roman Catholics. I am a “returning” Catholic with a brief absence to good ole’ southern “full gospel” preaching until the Catholic Church also became “full gospel” in many areas. The preacher in question should not be faulted nor should he be labeled with indignant labels, he was only telling the press what his “church” has defined as “proper Christian” and yes he also qualified the comments by stating that as a minister of the Southern Baptist denomination he was “obligated” to stand by what his church has defined “in writing” as “acceptable” Christian thought.   As a long time resident let me preface my remarks by stating I traveled all over the southern United States for many years spending a week at a time in hundreds of small communities opening, closing and moving retail stores as a temporary manager sent in for that purpose. I have met no more wonderful, loving, accepting people as those in the south of various heritages. In the south…..religion (especially southern “full gospel”) has been responsible for more civil rights than any laws the northern academia would dare impose on them since the civil war. Religion is what brings these people together and they all share that common denominator, whether black, brown, yellow or white.   You can’t drive 10 miles on a country road in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida (except southern Florida), the Carolinas without coming across a community of even a mere 100 souls where there isn’t a church structure in the middle of the village before even a bank or grocery store.    I have lived among these fine people for over 25 years and made this area my home married the daughter of a poor Mississippi sharecropper, and there are no better people in my worldly travels in my opinion, but they do have some “different” ideas that I will simply call “customs” as we all have.

As an example, I remember going into a town to open a store in the middle of Alabama where stores, professionals (Drs/Dentists/lawyers) and even banks and civil servants close the entire town down on Wednesday afternoons because in the south, Wednesday nights are just as sacred as “church nights” as Sundays are. Before I give you my next example, I will add that I have children “of color” and seven grandchildren also “of color” that I love and adore completely and that as a young sun-worshiper here in the south I often had tanned so much that in-laws and friends that hadn’t met me before though I was indeed Latino at least. With this in mind I will also relate a story where I opened a store in central Mississippi where they still practiced white and black shopping days! Of course nobody got into any trouble when the occasional “mistake” was made, however they did receive disapproving “looks”. It was explained, that it was just “custom” from generation to generation and no “official” rule existed, but that “everyone just knew”. I found this out to my dismay when I didn’t understand this existed and naively scheduled a “grand opening” in this mainly black town on a white shopping day. Needless to say, I had to reschedule and was quite embarrassed.

These are fairly recent stories showing how cultures differ down here in the south and especially in the Bible belt where “full gospel” religion reigns supreme. The minister in question stated that “Mormons” were on his church’s “list” of non-Christian believers (I will not use the “C” word as Mormons are good people and shouldn’t be lumped in with folks like the followers of Jim Jones and others like him). I can tell you that there are many more “religions” on that list the preacher mentioned. In fact I’ve experienced as a Catholic some of the same suspicion as some fervent “full gospel” (mostly religious “right” politically) have mentioned they thought from “tracts” passed out on street corners, that the Pope was the anti-Christ and Catholics were going to hell because they prayed to saints and Mary (Mother of Jesus) to “intercede” for them, when full gospel Christians are taught you can go “direct” to the source with your prayers and should. They object to Catholics and others such as Episcopalians calling their preachers “father” as they believe there is only ONE father.   People get so dedicated to their particular “sect” or division of Christianity down here in the south that I have actually heard some go as far as to say that if didn’t attend their particular “congregation” you were lost “forever”.

With all of this now said and done and out in the open (finally), lets forgo….the “bigot” and other labels because I’m sure some of those who are using those labels we can find some more appropriate labels for if labeling others is your particular thrill in life. Suffice to say that the religious right in the south (i.e. translate to “full gospel”) who make up a very large part of the electorate DO NOT and are taught NOT TO discard their religious beliefs when serving in secular positions or when going into the voting booth. They are rightfully taught that they must “be themselves” and show their beliefs AT ALL TIMES and to do otherwise would definitely be “unchristian”. As I described before in my examples this is “southern tradition” and “custom” which may be foreign and unfamiliar to the liberal elites (that’s a religion in itself and we see how “bigoted” they act when someone disagrees with them now don’t we?) who cannot possibly understand how these good people cannot and will not divorce their religious beliefs from their everyday and political actions and beliefs.

This is why I mentioned in earlier pieces that I knew it to be a good bet that neither Romney nor Huntsman can garner any support neither in southern primaries nor in a general election.   History has proven it as one can see from Romney’s 2008 run for president. I predicted earlier that after New Hampshire, his race would be over and I still predict it because the next states they have to run in are Bible belt states that treat his religion with “suspicion” and in the Southern Baptist Convention actual written prohibition from casting a vote for him in the churches teachings and by-laws.   As I have said, these good southern folks get no better (oh sure you got some lemons just like you have anywhere I’ve been throughout the world) but do NOT separate religion from politics and are prohibited by their faith in many places from voting for a Mormon (proven in 2008) or maybe even someone not in their own sect such as Catholics as was proven in 1960. This does NOT mean that gentlemen such as Mr. Romney and Mr. Huntsman are any less virtuous as good men than any one else, it’s just stating a “fact of culture” that they will be unable to overcome at least now. If they cannot “take the south”, then they are truly “unelectable”.

I will return to my obvious point is “don’t let someone else’s culture or religion dictate how you will vote in this election”. God made us ALL different and politics will ALWAYS have undertones of religious views and as humans this is unavoidable and just not natural and we should not deny this and be able to openly discuss these differences in an open society that we are. The Mormon Candidates are good moral individuals just as southern Christians are. The only difference is they are all raised in different religious “cultures” and teachings and all are taught “tolerance”.

Vote your own conscience but be mindful that others do not share your same religious nor political views and learn to respect those views without the name-calling as I have learned to love these people knowing that they do not mean to disrespect a politician who does not share their religion. They will do as I suggested to you…..they will only vote their conscience (religious one in this case).   That my dear reader is what freedom of religion and freedom of speech is all about in this great country….allowing those we don’t agree with to think and act differently without our hatred but with understanding.

I’m sure a “truthful” but probably “painful” article like this will cause some controversy and some name-calling, but they again, I’m used to it and besides I’m probably already on Obama’s secret list.

Come On...Morgan...Get REAL!

   Jim Gschwind PHD
The Despondent Correspondent

All you Cain ("Hermanites"), now keep supporting him.

The nerve of one of my favorite actors to start acting like Danny Glover.....Morgan Freeman...what's wrong with you?  And I liked you so much and especially liked your successful restaurant in Greenville, Ms.

I hate to break this to you but anybody that wants Obama to NOT be re-elected is NOT racist and wanting smaller government and less taxes as a teapartyer does NOT also make you a racist.  Do you not know that there are plenty of blacks in teaparty movement?  Congressman/Col Alan West (war hero), the Head of CORE (Congress for Racial Equality), the PUBLISHER OF THE TEAPARTY REVIEW NO LESS! and the PUBLISHER of "Regular Folks United" and of course Herman Cain... and I wish they'd quit referring to him as "just" a pizza guy.  He was youngest VP for Pillsbury and turned Burger King in the South around for them (In fact he "bought" Godfathers from Pillsbury when it was ready to go bankrupt and turned it around in just 14 months).  He was also a coca-cola executive and civilian chairman of the Kansas City Fed reserve.  He was also a military Missile Technician which also says something for his intelligence doesn't it?  He epitomizes the "American dream" but Mr. Freeman.......since he is a tea party pal, I guess that makes him a "racist" also?  Come on.....make some common sense...I always thought you did have some and now I'm disappointed.

By the way.......the Pres has been doing campaign fund raisers now for six months....Has anyone thought of whether he is using campaign funds instead of Presidential budget funds for this as most presidents do?  When do we start holding him accountable for these expenditures for re-election?  With such a tight budget why should "we the people" who want to fire him anyway, be paying for his campaign travels?  Why hasn't this been brought up by anybody? Am I the "voice crying in the wilderness" AGAIN?
